Rybnicka.eu tradition and modernity
100 years ago, in June 1922, "Sztandar Polski" moved its and "Gazeta Rybnicka" printing house from Gliwice to Rybnik.
- “Today our magazines were printed in Rybnik for the first time. The transfer of the printing house and the publishing house from one city to another, a thing that is less important in ordinary relations, is becoming more important today in Silesia, not only because for the first time the Polish society of the city and the district of Rybnik had its own publishing house in Rybnik. There are other more important reasons"
- wrote on the front page of "Sztandar Polski" on June 22, 1922, further describing the genesis of the magazine:
"It was in the spring of 1919, when the founder of "Sztandar Polski" came to Upper Silesia to, in accordance with the wishes of many countrymen, to create a new outpost of Polishness for the reborn Silesia. […] After overcoming many difficulties, the first issue was published on the very day of the outbreak of the first Polish uprising. […] Soon, with the zealous participation and cooperation of an activist known throughout the Rybnik county, Mr. M. Basista, he founded the Polish Banner for the Rybnik county, “Gazeta Rybnicka”.
Although before World War II, Gazeta Rybnicka disappeared for many years in People's Poland (reactivated in March 1990), it may look for its roots during the first Silesian Uprising, which the editor of the magazine then called the "Polish Uprising".
Over the course of a century, the world has changed a lot ... The newspaper, wanting to continue to accompany the inhabitants, keeps up with the times and wants to be strongly present also on the Internet.
100 years after the first issue of "Gazeta Rybnicka" published in our city, the Rybnicka.eu website was launched. How is she like? First of all yours.
At rybnicka.eu you will read great interviews with people from Rybnik - both those from the front pages and those who are usually in the shadows. Everyone has a story...
On the new portal you will find a calendar for every day for both young and seniors, people looking for culture and sports events. You will see beautiful photo galleries, videos and check daily information. You can also look into the past of Rybnik, because on the website you can view the archival issues of "Gazeta Rybnicka" even from the 1990s.
However, above all, it is important that the inhabitants of Rybnik can co-create the portal. Hence the clear invitation on rybnicka.eu: "Your Rybnik in the lens", "Submit an event", "Submit a topic", where the resident himself, intuitively creates, for example, his own gallery, which he can show off to the whole city, or inform the residents about the event he organizes event. Dear Internet users, we invite you to co-create the Rybnicka.eu website. This is a new place on the web for you.
